Job description
Overview
Spectra Compunet Private Limited is searching for a proficient Odoo Developer with more than three years of direct experience in Odoo development to collaborate closely with their existing Odoo implementation team. This position involves creating client-tailored custom modules, integrations, reports, workflows, and enhancements within both Odoo Enterprise and Community editions.
Primary Duties
- Craft and modify Odoo modules aligned with client-approved requirements.
- Enhance existing Odoo modules utilizing Python, ORM, XML, and inheritance features.
- Design custom workflows, business rules, validations, wizards, and automation tools.
- Create and adjust Odoo views, menus, actions, and QWeb reports with precision.
- Develop connections to external applications through API integrations.
- Perform front-end customizations employing JavaScript and OWL technologies where needed.
- Resolve PostgreSQL database challenges including data migration and optimize system performance.
- Apply access controls, record rules, and enforce security protocols effectively.
- Provide support for User Acceptance Testing (UAT), troubleshooting bugs, deployment processes, and live environment issues.
- Maintain version control using Git and manage deployments via Odoo.sh and staging setups.
- Document technical specifics of developed customizations methodically.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of three years with practical Odoo development exposure.
- Strong command over Python programming and Odoo ORM framework.
- Expertise in XML, XPath, and methods for inheriting Odoo views.
- Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL database systems.
- Proven experience in building personalized Odoo modules and familiarity with QWeb report generation.
- Understanding of ACL, Access Rights, and Record Rules for data security.
- Familiarity with JavaScript and OWL frontend frameworks.
- Skillful in implementing RESTful API integrations.
- Adept at problem analysis and debugging complex issues.
- Proficiency with Git version control systems.
- Comfortable working within Odoo.sh hosting and Linux-based environments.
Desired Additional Expertise
- Customizing modules related to CRM & Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Manufacturing/MRP, Accounting, Project Management, and Website/eCommerce.
- Experience in handling data migrations, third-party integrations, upgrades, and advanced manufacturing/inventory customizations is a plus.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant will demonstrate the ability to independently interpret functional requirements and implement them into dependable technical solutions following a lifecycle of analysis, development, unit testing, UAT assistance, and deployment. The candidate is expected to write clean, maintainable, and upgrade-compatible code, avoiding unnecessary alterations to Odoo's core.
Education
Degrees in B.E., B.Tech, BCA, MCA, B.Sc., M.Sc. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent fields are preferred. However, strong hands-on experience with Odoo development holds greater significance than academic credentials.
Compensation
The monthly salary offered ranges from INR 25,000 to INR 50,000.
