As a Meter Reader based in The Villages, FL, you will play a vital role in ensuring uninterrupted municipal services by performing accurate meter readings and maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct meter readings and log the data for assigned routes.
• Verify meters are operating properly and identify malfunctions or skipped meters.
• Communicate reading interpretations clearly to customers.
• Perform repairs such as fixing leaks and broken lines, turning meters on or off, and assisting with meter and box installations.
• Implement preventive maintenance to support efficient operations.
• Prioritize safety and health for oneself and the team while performing duties.

Qualifications and Skills

• Possession of a valid driver’s license with clean driving record (no major infractions).
• Basic understanding of plumbing and water meter installation and repairs.
• Familiarity with the local street geography is a plus.
• Ability to write clearly and legibly.
• Competent in performing routine mathematical calculations quickly and accurately.
• Demonstrated tact and courtesy in interactions with the public.
• Commitment to following safe work protocols.
