Material Handler

About the Role

As a Material Handler based in Singapore, you will manage warehouse inventory precision, ensure on-schedule deliveries, and uphold safety and quality standards compliant with SOX and ISO. Your role includes operating material handling equipment, performing regular cycle counts, processing shipments and transfers between sites, and working collaboratively with Procurement, Finance, and Quality teams to maintain compliance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive materials promptly and accurately, verifying documentation and processing transactions correctly in SAP.
• Keep thorough records of receipts and collaborate with Procurement to resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain and distribute inventory adhering to the FIFO method and perform SOX-compliant cycle counts and inventory system updates.
• Coordinate with Procurement on damaged part processing and assist with quality audits such as IATF and ISO.
• Manage shipping logistics including site transfers, packaging, labeling, and documentation, evaluating freight options for cost-efficiency.
• Adhere to safety and environmental protocols, including ergonomic practices and chemical handling in line with regulatory standards, while maintaining an orderly workspace.
• Drive continuous improvement by participating in lean initiatives (6S, TPM, CIP), recommending process enhancements, and leading new procedure implementations.
• Provide mentorship within the team, serve as a contact point for internal customers and buyers, and actively engage in communications and departmental meetings.

Requirements

• Minimum educational qualification of O-Level, SPM, or equivalent.
• Proven experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, and shipping or logistics.
• Competency with inventory management software, specifically SAP and Material Master.
• Certified ability to safely operate material handling equipment such as manual and electric pallet jacks and forklifts.
• Knowledge of SOX cycle counting methods and ISO/quality audit standards.
• Strong commitment to safety, accuracy, and timely deliveries.

Technical and Soft Skills

• Expertise in SAP Inventory Management and Material Master data maintenance.
• Proficiency in cycle counting, reconciliation, and root cause analysis aligned with SOX compliance.
• Experience operating pallet jacks and handling shipping documentation and systems.
• Meticulous attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
• Effective communication with cross-functional teams and a problem-solving mindset focused on continuous improvement.
• Reliability to meet deadlines and ownership of assigned tasks.

Preferred Experience

• Experience structuring bin locations and managing consigned versus owned materials.
• Active participation in lean management programs with measurable results.
• Support roles in audits related to IATF, ISO, Quality, and Finance (SOX).
• Familiarity with ergonomic principles and chemical handling compliance in warehouse settings.
