Role Summary
The Market Development Representative (MDR) at Docusign is responsible for driving new business opportunities through outbound prospecting activities. The role involves spending the majority of time engaging potential clients via phone calls and targeted outreach to generate qualified leads. This position offers extensive training focusing on strategic sales techniques and account research, providing valuable experience in a fast-growing SaaS environment. The MDR reports directly to the Manager of Market Development Representatives and is an individual contributor role.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct outbound calls targeting prospects in Docusign’s core vertical markets, delivering customized solutions to address business process challenges.
- Arrange meetings between prospective clients and Account Executives serving SMB, Mid-Market, or Enterprise segments.
- Utilize CRM tools effectively to document interactions and uncover additional opportunities within assigned territories.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to design and execute email and LinkedIn campaigns that enhance company and personal brand visibility.
Work Model
The position follows a hybrid work arrangement, requiring employees to split time between remote work and onsite office presence. The minimum office attendance is at least two days weekly, though this may vary depending on the team. Job role designations—In Office, Hybrid, or Remote—are assigned based on business needs and may be adjusted over time in compliance with local regulations.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience is required.
- Minimum of two years' experience in outbound sales.
- Preferred experience in the SaaS sector.
- Strong communication skills paired with resilience, motivation, and humility.
- Ability to establish and nurture robust business relationships.
- Curiosity and analytical ability to gather information and develop strategic action plans linking business needs to solutions.
