Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of comprehensive manufacturing processes and technologies that support research and development initiatives.
  • Work closely with worldwide cross-functional teams to create integrated solutions from concept to delivery.
  • Drive ongoing enhancements and optimization of manufacturing processes to improve key performance indicators and facilitate global solution deployment.
  • Oversee the design, setup, and qualification of manual, semi-automated, and fully automated manufacturing systems in a prototyping environment.
  • Provide design teams with manufacturing insights, feedback on process selection, and support during the design for manufacture stages.
  • Manage and mentor an engineering team, encouraging professional growth through structured development plans and guidance.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven background in developing or enhancing manufacturing processes in either production or R&D contexts.
  • Experience offering technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring engineering staff via direct or indirect supervisory roles.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Process, Industrial, Biomedical, or Mechatronic Engineering, or a comparable qualification in a related field.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Leadership experience managing technical teams within manufacturing or research and development environments.
  • Proficiency with 3D Computer-Aided Design software for designing equipment, tooling, fixtures, or assembly aids.
  • Knowledge of additive manufacturing techniques such as 3D printing.
  • Familiarity with laser technologies including marking and cutting.
  • Competence in producing technical documentation such as reports, instructions, change assessments, user requirements, and equipment qualification protocols.
  • Understanding of risk analysis tools like PFMEA or equivalent methodologies.
  • Ability to apply statistical methods for assessing manufacturing process capabilities.
  • Acquaintance with industrial engineering concepts, line balancing, and lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
  • Experience collaborating with external vendors.
  • Capability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent projects effectively.
