Job description
Role Overview
The Managing Quantity Surveyor is responsible for enhancing project profitability and contributing positively to the construction process through active involvement in procurement, cost control, and reporting. This position aims to achieve optimal value from suppliers and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct monthly valuation of work in progress, including forecasting of final costs and sales figures.
- Prepare and track project cash flow forecasts to ensure financial precision.
- Measure, evaluate, submit, and negotiate any contract variations.
- Advise project teams on commercial and contractual issues, including producing and reviewing related correspondence.
- Prepare, submit, and negotiate final project accounts accurately and timely.
- Conduct commercial assessment of subcontractor tenders and contracts to ensure best value.
- Certify subcontractor monthly valuations and final accounts.
- Ensure compliance with internal commercial processes at the project level.
- Assist in setting and maintaining project purchasing targets and budgeting.
- Generate accurate formal reports following the business schedule.
- Support health, safety, and environmental (HSE) initiatives by participating in safety awareness activities and contributing to incident reporting and resolution in line with company and IMS guidelines.
Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum overall working experience of 15 years, with at least 5 years in a relevant role.
- Experience working in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region for at least 5 years is advantageous.
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
- Hold a recognized professional qualification in the relevant field.
