About the Role

As the Manager of Digital Delivery at the Ministry of Health New Zealand, you will take charge of executing digital and technological initiatives that modernize and enhance regulatory services. Situated in Wellington, this permanent role offers 4.8 weeks of annual leave and a midpoint salary around $200,101, depending on your expertise.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of critical digital and technological enterprise solutions to advance regulatory capabilities and enhance service delivery.
  • Translate high-level roadmaps into tangible work packages, milestones, dependencies, and delivery plans to facilitate effective execution.
  • Monitor progress rigorously by tracking milestones, mitigating risks, resolving obstacles, supporting governance processes, and maintaining team focus on results.
  • Bridge business and technology delivery by collaborating with regulatory, digital, and market teams to ensure practical and fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Prepare solutions for sustainable operations, encompassing release management, CI/CD practices, operational handover, and continuous post-implementation improvements.
  • Establish robust delivery routines including defined workflows, prioritization methods, reporting structures, and delivery cadences across hybrid teams to ensure smooth transition from concept to implementation.

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrated expertise in converting strategies and roadmaps into execution plans with clear milestones and measurable outcomes.
  • Experience managing the delivery of complex digital or enterprise technology projects, preferably in regulatory, public sector, or healthcare environments.
  • Proficient in governance, risk management, financial oversight, planning, and reporting, supporting senior leadership in informed decision-making.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management talents, adept at clarifying objectives, handling ambiguity, prioritizing efforts, and driving team execution.
  • Possession of relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience, with a deep understanding of program and large-scale project delivery.
