Role Overview

We are inviting applications for a Maintenance Engineer at our Nelson plant. This pivotal role is essential for the reliable functioning of our plant and machinery. The position involves a rotating shift schedule totaling 45 hours weekly.

Key Responsibilities

• Uphold stringent Health & Safety practices consistently.
• Install, maintain, and provide support for plant and operational machinery.
• Promptly address and remedy any equipment breakdowns.
• Conduct routine inspections and servicing on daily, weekly, and monthly schedules.
• Plan and implement both reactive and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to reduce equipment downtime.
• Diagnose technical faults and identify root causes.
• Repair or replace defective components as needed.
• Assist with ongoing management of engineering inventory and spare parts.

Candidate Profile

• Possess at least a Level 4 Engineering qualification.
• Demonstrated practical experience in fitting, machining, or welding disciplines.
• Highly committed to Health & Safety protocols.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities paired with creative thinking.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in maintaining accurate documentation and records.
• Willingness and ability to work a rotating shift schedule.
• Experience in food production or manufacturing sectors is advantageous.
• Electrical qualification is considered a plus.
