Role Overview

The Livestock Representative is a central figure in our livestock operations, serving as the liaison between Alliance and our farmer shareholders in the Blenheim Region. This role is heavily oriented towards relationship building and commercial performance, involving diverse daily activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and secure livestock aligned with Alliance’s strategic goals, meeting volume, quality, and cost objectives, while monitoring market trends and competitor actions.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with shareholder farmers, uncover new business opportunities, and convert prospects into long-term clients.
  • Effectively manage territory by maintaining accurate livestock forecasts, aligning supply with processing and operational needs.
  • Ensure seamless coordination of livestock logistics, including transport and scheduling, keeping all stakeholders informed.
  • Promote and uphold the Farm Assurance Programme standards along with compliance and health and safety protocols.

Candidate Profile

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the livestock and agricultural industries.
  • Demonstrated capability to build trust and influence among farmers and other key stakeholders.
  • Excellent negotiation and communicative abilities.
  • Results-oriented with the aptitude to work autonomously.
  • Strong planning, forecasting, and territory management skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills coupled with effective time management.
  • A tertiary qualification in Agribusiness or a related discipline is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in New Zealand.
