Job description
Role Overview
As a Load Controller working within Qatar Aviation Services, you will be tasked with preparing both DCS and manual load/trim sheets for each departing Customer Airline. This must be done strictly adhering to the airline and QAS procedures as well as service level agreements. You will ensure safe, accurate, and timely production of Load Instruction and Reporting Forms (LIRF) and other flight documentation required for departures.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement Standard Operating and safety procedures to uphold safety standards consistently.
- Plan aircraft loading to maintain ground stability throughout loading and offloading.
- Prepare load instruction reports including proper coding for all dead loads, special loads, and supplementary cargo information.
- Continuously monitor flight status and notify Flight Dispatch/PIC of any changes in Zero Fuel Weight.
- Produce legally and safety-compliant load sheets promptly.
- Maintain currency of manual load sheet preparation and documentation to ensure license validity.
- Report any discrepancies, incidents, or accidents related to aircraft weight and balance to the Load Control Officer.
- Engage in training programs to enhance competence in delivering weight and balance services across multiple airline customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned by departmental leadership.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications
- Minimum education of High School plus five years related experience, or Vocational/Diploma/Associate Degree with at least four years experience.
- Experience as a qualified Load Controller in the airline industry is preferred but not mandatory.
- Certification or licensing for Weight & Balance functions on wide/narrow-bodied aircraft is preferred but not required.
- Fundamental knowledge of load control and ramp operations.
- Strong communication skills, fluent in English, both oral and written.
- IT proficiency including email communication.
- Ability to operate under pressure and adapt to frequent changes.
- Skill in interpreting and applying pertinent SITA messages.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in ramp loading processes.
- Certified IATA Dangerous Goods training for Load Planners.
- Experienced with Ramp Handling and Departure Control Systems.
- Advanced understanding of ground handling procedures.
- Advanced Load Control training (not mandatory).
- Valid certifications in IATA DG training, Ramp Handling, and Load Control licenses for various aircraft types.
