Electrical Supervisor

Job Purpose

The Electrical Supervisor is responsible for guaranteeing the serviceability and optimal operation of all electrical equipment and systems under their management. This role includes leading and overseeing a team of maintenance personnel to execute preventive and corrective maintenance as well as new electrical installations to maintain smooth and safe facility operations. The supervisor will also manage effective use of resources and workforce relevant to the department's tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, assign, and supervise maintenance and improvement projects in line with manufacturer specifications and regulations.
• Oversee daily maintenance activities to ensure timely completion.
• Hold daily staff briefings with attendance tracking.
• Ensure all work methods are safe and efficient producing high-quality results.
• Generate daily and weekly management reports regarding asset readiness according to Standard Operating Procedures.
• Manage spare parts requests and ensure their proper use onsite.
• Maintain essential spare parts availability at all times.
• Organize and conduct technical and safety trainings for team members.
• Inspect and inventory department assets including tools and vehicles.
• Conduct audits of electrical systems and infrastructure to confirm compliance with safety and quality standards at key airport facilities (HIA/DIA).
• Raise requisitions for spare parts and services as needed.
• Plan and oversee preventive maintenance schedules, shift rosters, and system improvements.
• Keep detailed records of works, employee timesheets, attendance, leave, and training.
• Respond to emergency calls during off-hours and weekends.
• Inspect completed tasks by external contractors to ensure conformity with specifications and regulations.
• Work on rotating shifts.
• Undertake other departmental duties as assigned by the department head.

Qualifications & Experience

• High school/vocational/diploma equivalent with at least 3 years of relevant work experience, OR
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
• Possession of a valid Qatar driving license is preferred.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Proven experience with power systems operation and maintenance.
• Hands-on knowledge of HV, MV, and LV electrical operation and maintenance.
• Familiarity with electrical protection systems and SCADA operations.
• Experience in power plant operations and maintenance.
• Knowledge of fire life and safety systems.
• Understanding of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations, including Kahramaa rules.
• Competence with electrical applications for both high and low voltage systems.
• Familiarity with tools, equipment, and materials used in electrical systems.
• Ability to draft basic incident and progress reports.
• Skilled in fault diagnostics across various electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams such as layouts and as-built drawings.
• Awareness of operational limitations within airport environments.
• Proficient in installation, repair, and maintenance of all electrical system equipment and components.
• Preparedness to work shifts and respond to emergencies outside regular hours.

Additional Information

This role requires the capacity to be responsive during after-hours emergencies including weekends, and involves shift work. Supervisory responsibilities include management of personnel, resources, and equipment to deliver maintenance and installation projects efficiently, safely, and adhering to standards within the airport electrical systems context.
