About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Civil Carpenter with strong leadership abilities for the position of Leading Hand - Structures based in Rolleston, Canterbury. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team working on high-profile infrastructure projects including bridges, retaining walls, and boardwalks.
Key Responsibilities and Scope
The position involves managing and supervising multiple civil construction projects with a focus on formwork, boxing, concrete, and steelwork. Leading hands will direct and motivate a team of tradespeople and laborers to ensure on-time completion and high-quality standards.
Required Expertise and Qualifications
- Level 4 certification in Concrete Construction (Commercial and Civil Infrastructure).
- Proven experience in civil infrastructure, especially in concrete and formwork construction.
- Competency in installing formwork, steel fixing, concrete placement, and finishing techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications accurately.
- Current Site Safe or ConstructSafe passport.
- Possession of a full Class 1 driver licence.
- Capacity to work independently and meet program and quality targets.
- Strong commitment to health and safety on civil construction sites.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Dedication to quality, safety, and workmanship excellence.
