Job description

Position Overview

This role is for a Junior Security Analyst serving as a Tier I member of the Network Security Operations Center (NSOC) team located full-time onsite at 1 Technology Park, Harrisburg, PA. The analyst will actively support the operational readiness of security monitoring and response for critical communication sites and information systems within a 24/7 shift framework.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in a continuous 24/7 operational schedule including nights, weekends, and holiday shifts as required.
  • Conduct proactive onsite monitoring and response for mission-critical communication locations and IT security infrastructure.
  • Promptly categorize, prioritize, and escalate security alerts to facilitate swift incident resolution.
  • Adhere to protocols for gathering, triaging, analyzing, classifying, and escalating security data to meet established performance benchmarks.
  • Accurately document and escalate incidents arising from diverse channels such as email, chat, and voice communications.
  • Analyze technical security data to differentiate genuine issues from false alarms, maintaining accuracy in triage processes.
  • Collaborate with NSOC team to improve operational tools including playbooks, dashboards, metrics, and detection techniques.
  • Communicate effectively across stakeholder groups ensuring thorough understanding of incidents and response recommendations.
  • Provide assistance during security and network incidents to aid in resolution efforts as requested.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrates strong analytical thinking and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Capacity to operate efficiently in a fast-moving, high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent documentation and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours covering a 24/7 shift rotation.
  • One to three years of experience in a security operations center setting.
