Java Software Engineer - Digital Assets

About the Role and Company

We are looking for a skilled Java Software Engineer with over five years of experience in technology for financial services. This position involves designing, developing, and maintaining trading system infrastructure related to digital assets, along with integration with custodians and middle office systems. The role also provides exposure to innovative digital trading platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, design, and implement components of trading systems to support workflows such as order management, execution management, booking, and risk reporting.
• Establish and manage connections with external exchanges, market data sources, and vendor platforms to ensure smooth trade execution and processing.
• Maintain client and account management systems, managing data and transaction databases, and integrating with internal risk, compliance, and operations departments.
• Work closely with teams across Trading, Operations, Risk, and Compliance to define needs, deliver technology solutions, and optimize system performance.
• Provide daily technical support and resolve problems related to applications, databases, and connectivity.
• Take part in feature testing, deployment activities, and documentation of updates.
• Oversee vendor relationships concerning market access and trading infrastructure services.

Qualifications and Skills

• At least 5 years of software engineering or development experience within digital assets, blockchain, financial services, trading firms, or fintech vendors.
• Proficient with SQL databases, APIs, and integration with external platforms including market and exchange connectivity as well as KYC/AML tools.
• Strong expertise in Java programming language is mandatory.
• Experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform and familiarity with DevOps practices including continuous integration/deployment and containerization.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and capacity to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
• A collaborative mindset with ability to work effectively across business and technical teams.
