Role Overview
The IIB Integration Developer position offers a role in crafting integration solutions that link crucial platforms, applications, and data streams within high-demand environments. The developer will design, implement, and support stable, scalable, and secure integration solutions, collaborating closely with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, configure, and maintain enterprise integration solutions using IBM Integration Bus (IIB).
- Create IIB message flows aligned with business and technical objectives.
- Write message transformations utilizing ESQL.
- Integrate applications, databases, middleware, and external systems effectively.
- Utilize technologies such as IBM MQ, REST, SOAP, HTTP/HTTPS, and JMS for integration development.
- Implement both synchronous and asynchronous integration patterns.
- Perform data mapping and format transformation across different message types.
- Develop reusable integration components and services for efficiency and consistency.
- Diagnose and resolve integration issues during all life cycle stages, including development, testing, and production.
- Conduct root-cause analysis on integration failures.
- Assist with integration testing procedures, deployment, and release activities.
- Monitor integration flows, analyzing message processing and connectivity problems.
- Collaborate extensively with application developers, architects, QA, infrastructure, and business analysis teams.
- Prepare essential technical documentation such as interface specs, deployment guides, and support instructions.
- Engage in code reviews and technical discussions to uphold best practices.
- Adhere strictly to development, security, and integration standards.
- Provide production support and incident resolution in line with SLA commitments.
- Participate in on-call or after-hours support as necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Between 6 and 8 years of experience in middleware, enterprise or application integration development, including production support and problem-solving for integration solutions.
- Proven expertise in IBM Integration Bus (IIB) development and ESQL programming.
- Experience working with IBM MQ, REST APIs, SOAP web services, JMS, and data formats such as XML and JSON.
- Background in banking or financial services integration, managing enterprise banking systems and high-volume, mission-critical integrations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Enterprise Integration Patterns and application of secure coding/integration security standards.
- Experience with participation in code reviews, adherence to development standards, and structured deployment processes for Development, UAT, and Production environments.
- Strong testing practices around unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, familiarity with SLA-driven support and formal change management.
- Collaborative experience with diverse teams including solution architects, technical leads, QA, infrastructure/DevOps, business analysts, and release management personnel.
- Understanding of banking-specific compliance, security, and availability requirements.
- Proficient in written and spoken English and Arabic.
- Ability to work during Saudi Arabia business hours with adequate overlap with onshore teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE), IBM API Connect, or IBM DataPower.
- Familiarity with Kafka or event-streaming technologies.
- Hands-on use of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, Maven, or equivalents.
- Experience with payment systems, payment gateways, core banking, card processing, SWIFT or financial messaging standards, digital or mobile banking integrations, or regulatory/compliance-driven integrations.
- Relevant IBM certifications in IIB or ACE preferred.
