Job description
Job Summary
The Tender Engineering Manager is accountable for leading all technical aspects and coordination during the tendering phase of large and intricate projects involving High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) technology, including offshore platform applications. This role acts as the technical bid leader and main technical liaison with customers globally, ensuring delivery within timelines and budget while aligning with customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all technical activities throughout the HVDC tender phase.
- Serve as the primary technical interface with the customer and lead the tender team to devise the best technical solutions.
- Ensure tender design meets quality standards and deadline compliance.
- Oversee the global schedule of engineering tasks and enforce engineering procedures across complex projects.
- Deliver technical solutions that are safe, reliable, cost-efficient, and easy to install and operate, fulfilling customer expectations and timely documentation.
- Estimate project engineering budgets and develop engineering design strategies collaboratively with regional technical leaders and project managers.
- Lead the technical project phase from order to remittance, guiding functional engineering leaders in control, platform and layout design areas.
- Coordinate project engineers with relevant experience to optimize execution.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline.
- At least 10 years of professional experience in HVDC systems, Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS), industrial, or renewable sectors.
- Mandatory experience in HVDC and Grid Solution Integration industries.
- Proficient in English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 20% or more.
Preferred Skills
- Expertise in engineering processes including civil work, plant engineering, control and protection hardware, system performance studies, or electrical design.
- Familiarity with relevant standards and codes such as IEC 62351, IEEE 1588, IEEE 802, IEEE 1402, IEC 62501, and NERC CIP.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, capable of influencing stakeholders and conveying complex ideas clearly.
