Housekeeper

Job Overview

Bayshore HealthCare is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in our facilities with integrity and meticulous attention. This role is essential in fostering a hygienic, welcoming environment that supports our esteemed reputation and compliance with rigorous quality care standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, vacuuming, garbage disposal, bathroom sanitation, and room cleaning post-discharge following infection prevention and control (IPAC) guidelines.
• Apply Bayshore policies and IPAC protocols specifically for admission, discharge, isolation, and outbreak client room and unit sanitation.
• Consistently inspect rooms to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards and safeguard equipment integrity.
• Report any damage, shortages, or disturbances promptly to supervisors.
• Manage customer complaints with professionalism and patience, ensuring satisfaction.
• Monitor and replenish consumables appropriately to maintain stock levels.
• Adhere strictly to health and safety rules while actively participating in quality improvement initiatives aligned with the company's Quality Management System.
• Engage in proactive health and safety practices; report potential hazards immediately and complete accident reports for incidents within 24 hours.
• Uphold client confidentiality and share sensitive information only with authorized personnel.
• Complete additional related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• Preferred completion of secondary school diploma and relevant Home Support Program education.
• Demonstrated experience in cleaning or housekeeping roles, preferably with at least one year of recent related work or equivalent life experience involving similar responsibilities.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
• Strong customer service orientation with excellent interpersonal skills to manage challenging situations objectively and consistently.
• Effective time management and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks without sacrificing quality.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, squat, kneel, reach freely, lift up to 23 kilograms, and perform demanding physical tasks efficiently.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English or French.
• In-depth knowledge and implementation of infection control procedures.
