About the Role
Join Bayshore HealthCare as a dedicated Homemaker in the Delta/Richmond region, where you will play a vital role in enhancing the everyday lives of adults living independently, including those with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, mental health challenges, and other complex needs. In this position, your efforts will focus on promoting safety, independence, and quality of life through a range of household and community support activities.
Core Responsibilities
- Conduct regular housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, laundry, dishwashing, and cleaning bathrooms and kitchens.
- Organize and maintain safe and orderly home environments, support decluttering efforts, and help clients establish household routines.
- Adapt to various home settings, including those needing extensive cleaning or organization.
- Assist with meal-related tasks including planning, grocery shopping, and preparing meals.
- Offer companionship to clients while fostering their independence, participation in community activities, and life skills development.
- Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and social engagements as needed.
- Monitor and report any changes in client well-being, support requirements, or home condition.
- Complete all required documentation professionally and maintain client confidentiality.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Preferred experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, or equivalent support needs.
- Background in homemaking, residential or community support, or professional cleaning services is advantageous.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Capability to work independently while maintaining professional boundaries.
Essential Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Clear Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, reaching, standing, and cleaning for extended periods.
