About the Role
This permanent full-time position as a Freight Forwarder is based in Warrington, offering an annual salary between £30,000 and £35,000 depending on experience. The working schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The successful candidate will join a nationwide leader with multiple international offices, tasked with managing shipments both domestically and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate shipment activities across air, sea, and road.
- Collaborate with customers and suppliers to maintain seamless logistics operations.
- Compile and manage all shipping and customs-related documentation.
- Ensure strict adherence to current import and export laws and customs regulations.
- Obtain and negotiate freight quotes, providing competitive pricing to customers.
- Resolve shipping issues or delays promptly and effectively.
- Arrange collections, deliveries, and onward logistics processes.
- Handle customs clearance in partnership with relevant internal teams.
- Generate invoices and document all applicable charges accurately.
- Maintain precise records and update internal logistics systems.
- Develop and sustain robust relationships with clients and suppliers.
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrable prior experience in freight forwarding is required.
- Proven expertise in managing cross-trade shipments within the European Union.
- Experience collaborating with UK and EU-based clients.
- Familiarity and experience with handling ADR-classified goods.
- Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Self-driven and able to operate independently using initiative.
