About the Company
Located in Consett, County Durham, our company specialises in the reverse engineering and repair of large industrial rotating equipment, particularly pumps. We manufacture spare parts in-house through reverse engineering in our machine shop. Currently, the company is experiencing growth, resulting in an opening within the estimating team due to internal promotion.
Job Summary
The Estimating Engineer will report directly to the Sales Director and support a dynamic production team. The ideal candidate will have a mechanical engineering background, with practical machining experience and ability to estimate task durations within a machine shop.
Key Responsibilities
- Use the EFACS ERP system to calculate job costs accurately.
- Analyze sketches and technical drawings to estimate machining task times.
- Research material costs and subcontractor pricing.
- Interpret comprehensive repair plans to estimate costs associated with service and repairs.
- Compile detailed repair quotes and prepare draft quotations for customers.
- Keep records of all calculations in a centralized database.
- Leverage database insights to boost operational efficiency.
Candidate Profile
- Strong dedication to maintaining quality standards, controlling costs, and meeting delivery schedules.
- Precise and adaptable approach to work assignments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, along with solid experience using ERP software.
- Able to collaborate effectively within a small, multidisciplinary team.
- Educational and practical background in Mechanical Engineering.
