The firm employs over 10,300 professionals globally, including approximately 1,000 in the UK and Ireland, and is looking to expand its expert Systems Engineering and Assurance team.
Role Context
Within the Systems Engineering and Assurance discipline, which encompasses System Safety, Cybersecurity, Software Assurance, Human Factors, Ergonomics, and PRAM, this role aims to strengthen the core Systems Engineering capability. The position requires a solid foundation in systems engineering principles, integration, and assurance techniques, preferably related to the transportation sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement processes that capture, manage, validate, and assess the quality of systems engineering deliverables such as requirements.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather and refine requirements ensuring clarity, conciseness, testability, and feasibility.
- Collaborate with project teams to provide comprehensive evidence supporting the validation and verification of requirements.
- Utilize and optimize systems engineering tools and processes, including DOORS, Visio, Enterprise Architect, and architecting methodologies to assist integration, requirements management, and verification and validation efforts.
- Continuously enhance professional competence in alignment with the company's systems engineering framework.
- Maintain and build relationships with external bodies like INCOSE/IfSE and SaRS, as well as clients such as Network Rail, HS2, and Heathrow Airport Ltd to foster company reputation.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in requirements management, document control, and use of tools such as DOORS.
- Participation in large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Previous engagement within the UK rail industry applying systems engineering in mainline or mass transit railway projects.
- Solid knowledge of systems engineering concepts, processes, project lifecycle, and relevant standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 and ISO/IEC 42010 standards.
- Hands-on experience with DOORS Requirements Management Databases.
- Knowledge of configuration management processes and tools.
- Experience performing verification, validation, and systems assurance on major infrastructure programmes.
