About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced electrician to join our team based in Oxford. This full-time, hands-on position focuses on maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems in both empty and occupied properties. You will be critical in ensuring electrical safety compliance and readiness of homes for residents by conducting reactive repairs, planned maintenance, and contributing to refurbishment projects. Responsibilities

  • Carry out reactive repairs to lighting circuits, sockets, fuseboards, and other electrical systems.
  • Conduct inspections and tests of electrical installations to verify safety and adherence to regulations.
  • Replace or fix defective components such as switches, outlets, light fittings, and circuit breakers.
  • Work independently or collaborate with team members to achieve daily repair goals.
  • Communicate effectively with tenants or residents about the repairs and anticipated outcomes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas upon completion of tasks.
  • Follow all health and safety policies and procedures diligently.
  • Deliver consistent high-quality customer service throughout all interactions.
  • Respond to emergency call outs when necessary, including possible out-of-hours shifts.
  • Perform installation, servicing, repair, and maintenance tasks across a variety of domestic properties.
  • Utilize relevant IT systems to manage and prioritize workload efficiently ensuring timely completion of repairs.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations including AM2 assessment.
  • City & Guilds 18th Edition certification (candidates with 17th edition can transition to 18th edition).
  • Valid UK driving license with a clean driving record (minimum age 21, license held for over 3 months, and fewer than 9 penalty points required to drive company vehicles).
  • Experience working in domestic or social housing electrical roles.
