About AVAC Services
AVAC Services is a veteran-run advocacy organization based in Australia, dedicated to assisting veterans with compensation claims under the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act (MRCA) and the Veterans' Entitlements Act (VETs Act). The organization prioritizes achieving positive outcomes for veterans, focusing on understanding each individual's story rather than profit.
Role Overview
- This is a national position allowing work-from-home options or from the Townsville or Perth offices.
- The role involves 36 hours weekly, scheduled Tuesday through Friday.
- The position centers on supporting veterans with Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) claims and Comcare Service Corporation (CSC) matters.
- Engagement includes direct interaction with veterans, many of whom have service-related injuries, trauma, or mental health issues, thus requiring a trauma-informed, clear, and straightforward communication style.
Candidate Profile
- Proven track record handling DVA claims effectively.
- Experience working on CSC-related matters.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated dedication to assisting and advocating for the veteran community.
- Capable of working autonomously within a nationally distributed team.
Why Join AVAC Services?
