Job description
Role Overview
DHL Supply Chain, the global leader in supply chain management, is seeking a Drivers Mate based in Doncaster, DN3 3FF. This permanent full-time role involves assisting drivers to facilitate timely and safe delivery of goods, playing an essential part in smooth operations. Shift patterns rotate between 5 on 2 off, 4 on 2 off, and 4 on 2 off starting at 6:00 AM.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and coordinate the picking and loading of goods onto assigned delivery vehicles.
- Assist drivers with unloading deliveries at licensed venues or residential locations.
- Maintain communication with customers to keep them informed regarding delivery progress.
- Liaise with the transport team to report and resolve any issues encountered during deliveries.
- Complete required documentation and processes using an electronic handheld device.
Candidate Profile
- Physically capable of handling the physical demands and manual handling tasks inherent in the role.
- Experience working with high volume orders is advantageous.
- Excellent organizational skills enabling independent workload management.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
- Previous experience as a driver’s mate or in a related position is preferred but not mandatory.
