Dish Washer

About the Role

Located in Lahaina, HI, this is a full-time opportunity with competitive pay. The position primarily involves washing dishes and kitchen utensils both manually and mechanically, maintaining cleanliness and organization across kitchen workspaces, and assisting in food preparation tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate dishwashing machines and hand-wash glassware, flatware, pots, and pans efficiently.
• Organize and store clean utensils, plates, and cooking equipment appropriately in designated storage or cooking lines.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, ensuring equipment and utensils are orderly and sanitized using approved agents.
• Stock necessary supplies including dishes, pans, and utensils in service stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and cooking lines.
• Prepare food items by cleaning, peeling, cutting fruits and vegetables, and portioning pre-prepared foods.
• Handle all kitchen equipment and tableware carefully to prevent damage.
• Maintain floor cleanliness by removing mats, sweeping, and cleaning garbage cans with detergents regularly.
• Dispose of trash properly by sorting and placing it in designated pickup zones.
• Set up and dismantle dish stations, including the assembly and disassembly of dishwashers.
• Change cleaning water every two hours or more frequently as needed to maintain sanitation standards.
• Perform daily maintenance tasks such as replacing batteries and light bulbs, breaking down cardboard for recycling, and cleaning various surfaces including counters, shelves, walls, ceilings, furniture, and equipment.
• Safely move heavy items manually or using hand trucks while adhering to safety protocols.
• Report any requirements for major repairs or supply needs promptly to managers or supervisors.
• Demonstrate reliability by adhering to scheduled work hours and company attendance policies.

Requirements and Physical Demands

• Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously with strong organizational skills.
• Physically able to stand for extensive periods, lift up to 50 pounds, bend, kneel, climb stairs or ladders, and work in confined spaces.
• Effective written and oral communication abilities for clear workplace interaction.
• Strong judgment, problem-solving capabilities, and good decision-making skills.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions such as walking, hand and finger use, reaching, and pushing/pulling weights ranging from 10 to 40 pounds with varying frequency.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-energy, moderately noisy environments that might be crowded or hot, interacting with diverse personalities.
• Willingness to use required personal protective equipment including non-slip shoes, long pants, back support belts for heavy lifting, and safety gloves when handling knives.
