This leadership position within the Services Enablement and Transformation team focuses on advancing standardized cloud patterns, increasing delivery efficiency, and minimizing implementation risks across Mastercard Services. This role owns the cloud platform roadmap, prioritizes initiatives, and drives the successful delivery of cloud platform products.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a technical team specializing in AWS and Azure cloud provisioning, scalability, networking, connectivity, automation, and reliability.
- Develop and implement reusable cloud infrastructure patterns, infrastructure-as-code modules, governance frameworks, and platform standards to facilitate rapid and secure cloud adoption.
- Lead execution of complex cloud projects by dissecting technical challenges, setting priorities, removing obstacles, and holding teams accountable for results.
- Own and oversee the cloud platform roadmap, ensuring alignment with internal customer needs and measurable delivery outcomes.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Security, Architecture, Operations, Finance, and vendor partners to implement cloud-first infrastructure solutions at an enterprise scale.
- Work alongside Enterprise Architecture to recommend cloud infrastructure designs, reference patterns, and standards for consistent adoption.
- Implement FinOps and cloud governance best practices to enhance cost transparency, consumption discipline, risk mitigation, and accountability.
- Lead technical discussions by clarifying complex infrastructure trade-offs and providing actionable recommendations.
- Review cloud infrastructure designs critically to identify risks and suggest improvements for scalability, security, resiliency, and automation.
- Make decisive, assertive decisions in ambiguous situations, align diverse stakeholders, and adapt strategies as priorities evolve.
- Support vendor evaluations and negotiations to ensure alignment of commercial terms, service commitments, and technical fit with platform goals.
- Mentor and challenge team members to elevate technical expertise, reinforce delivery discipline, foster talent growth, and build resilient cloud infrastructure capabilities across different regions and time zones.
Candidate Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership of technical cloud infrastructure teams managing enterprise-scale cloud platforms.
- Proficient in AWS and Azure services, including cloud provisioning, scaling methodologies, automation, and operational reliability practices.
- Strong foundation in networking concepts such as cloud connectivity, routing, segmentation, resiliency, and secure integration between cloud and enterprise environments.
- Experience developing and enforcing cloud governance frameworks, infrastructure standards, controls, and reusable patterns that facilitate safe and efficient cloud use.
- Familiarity with FinOps principles encompassing cost transparency, forecasting, consumption management, and optimization.
- Ability to analyze complex technical challenges and formulate clear options, recommendations, and execution plans understandable to engineering and business stakeholders.
- Experience managing technical roadmaps, prioritizing tasks, and achieving product deliverables in partnership with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communicator able to lead technical discussions, challenge assumptions, secure alignment, and make confident decisions amid ambiguity.
- Skilled in reviewing infrastructure designs, posing critical technical questions, surfacing risks, and recommending improvements for enhanced delivery and platform reliability.
- Knowledgeable about modern engineering practices such as GitOps, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, policy-as-code, and Agile workflows for secure, automated infrastructure delivery.
- Collaborative approach working across Engineering, Product, Security, Architecture, Operations, Finance, and vendors to drive cloud-first infrastructure solutions.
- Experience participating in vendor evaluations and negotiations, assessing technical and commercial aspects to support long-term platform success.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop distributed teams across geographies and time zones while raising technical standards and cultivating a strong team culture.
Corporate Security Responsibilities
