Job Overview
We are hiring an experienced Design for Testability (DFT) Engineer to spearhead DFT initiatives for critical ASIC and SoC projects. This senior role involves leading the development and application of advanced test strategies to ensure manufacturability and high test quality of integrated circuits.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead comprehensive DFT strategies for assigned projects, balancing manufacturability, test coverage, and cost considerations.
- Work closely with design and verification teams to integrate DFT techniques seamlessly across design phases.
- Implement sophisticated DFT methods such as scan insertion, ATPG, Boundary Scan, and Design for X to maximize fault coverage and detection.
- Drive DFT best practices and participate actively in design reviews, offering expert advice on feasibility and optimization.
- Mentor junior DFT engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and a culture of excellence.
- Analyze testing results to identify design issues and suggest corrective measures to enhance test quality.
- Keep updated with emerging DFT tools and methodologies and incorporate them accordingly.
- Manage DFT libraries and maintain internal DFT standards.
- Contribute to refining the overall DFT flow within the team continuously.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines is strongly preferred.
- 12 to 20 years of substantial experience in DFT focusing on complex ASICs and SoCs.
- Demonstrated success in leading DFT strategy implementations for high-volume manufacturing.
- Advanced knowledge of DFT concepts including scan insertion, ATPG, Boundary Scan, Design for Reliability, and Design for Power.
- Proficiency with industry-standard DFT software such as Synopsys DFT Compiler, TetraMAX and scripting languages like Perl and TCL for automation tasks.
- Solid grasp of digital design fundamentals covering combinational and sequential logic, plus manufacturing test processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities aimed at optimizing both test quality and cost effectiveness.
- Leadership excellence, well-developed communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within teams.
