DevOps Engineer

About the Role

We are recruiting for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team based in Dublin, with options also in Belfast or Malta. This role focuses on cloud platform modernization, scalability, and enhancing infrastructure within secure and regulated environments. The position operates on a hybrid model, requiring 2–3 days onsite attendance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain Kubernetes (EKS) environments on AWS.
• Support and refine CI/CD workflows utilizing GitHub Actions and Harness.io.
• Deploy and manage observability systems across platforms, primarily using Datadog.
• Maintain and enhance AWS cloud infrastructure components.
• Document, review, and optimize deployment and operational methodologies.
• Ensure change management complies with security and regulatory standards.
• Work collaboratively with development teams to enable self-service platform functionalities.
• Participate in incident management and reliability enhancement efforts.
• Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure spending.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of three years in a senior DevOps or Platform Engineering capacity.
• Extensive hands-on Kubernetes experience, especially with AWS EKS.
• Proficiency with AWS ECS and a broad understanding of AWS services related to compute, databases, and security.
• Expertise with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Experience with observability/monitoring tools such as Datadog.
• Strong scripting abilities in Python and/or Bash.
• Solid grasp of container security practices.
• Experience operating in security-sensitive or regulatory-driven settings.
• Strong communication skills capable of managing multiple priorities.

Desirable Skills

• Familiarity with GitOps processes and tools.
• Knowledge of service mesh technology, e.g., Istio.
• Understanding of platform engineering principles.
• Experience in optimizing AWS costs.
• Background in Linux or database administration.
• Exposure to financial services environments.
• Experience with Agile or SAFe frameworks.
