Job description
Role Summary
The Demand Forecast & Planning (DF&P) Operator is tasked with managing demand forecasting, planning, and inventory optimization. They ensure sufficient levels of repairable and consumable stock to fulfill customer needs, while monitoring and reporting on inventory expenditures versus budget and forecasting future costs. Maintaining and updating inventory forecasting systems and analyzing data to support demand forecasting are key aspects of this role.
Core Responsibilities
- Assist in producing precise inventory forecasts by analyzing data and using scenario modeling to guide strategic decisions for fleet inventory needs.
- Support enhancement and delivery of DF&P capabilities, including IT infrastructure, ensuring alignment with business strategies.
- Help manage inventory through planning, positioning stock, monitoring item status, and balancing service levels with budget constraints.
- Under guidance, explore alternative supply sources to minimize expenses; determine appropriate asset solutions (repair, overhaul, or supply spares); assign repair tasks to repair bay facilities.
- Maintain forecasting parameters such as calculation methods and parts classification (e.g., ABC analysis), and support processing purchase orders through approved, cost-effective supply chain options.
- Plan component maintenance to meet Operator Maintenance Program, mandatory requirements, technical instructions, and capability embodiment initiatives.
- Ensure internal and external customers receive service levels meeting business KPIs, particularly supporting the QEAF Typhoon Fleet with timely, quality deliveries.
- Analyze supply chain data to detect recurring issues, inform relevant parties, and support corrective measures.
- Mentor QEAF personnel transitioning from the Qatar Technical Institute into the MOB organization.
Key Accountabilities
- Meet DF&P performance targets and report impacts on airworthiness and operational processes, understanding the influence of individual contributions.
- Ensure all DF&P activities are fully documented with records maintained in relevant IT and paper systems; compile reports and escalate issues when needed.
- Adhere to MAI CAME procedures and standards, and other applicable policies; suggest improvements as required.
- Implement Human Factors and Error Management principles to mitigate risks associated with DF&P activities.
- Ensure compliance with governance frameworks, support audits, address findings promptly, and monitor corrective actions' effectiveness.
- Understand and apply relevant continuing airworthiness regulatory frameworks; assist in adapting to regulatory changes and ensure compliance with other standards such as ITAR, EaPW, ISO.
- Support compliance with contractual obligations, assist contract reviews, and incorporate contract-required changes into DF&P processes.
Qualifications and Knowledge
- Thorough understanding of regulatory frameworks and their integration into DF&P processes.
- Ability to cultivate strong collaborations with customers, Part 145 organizations, order management, OEMs, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
- Good knowledge of platform contract terms, focusing on key performance indicators.
- Operational and commercial insight into fleet performance and key business metrics.
- Capable of promoting a culture of continuous improvement and enhancing management reporting systems.
- Support development and implementation of efficient and cost-effective DF&P strategies.
- Experienced in operational supply chain activities, defining and improving processes for daily operations.
- Recent relevant experience supporting maintenance or aftersales market environments.
- Valid driving license is required.
- Qualification such as Institute of Supply Chain Management Level 3, NVQ3, or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.
