Cybersecurity Instructor/Lecturer

Role Overview

The Cybersecurity Instructor/Lecturer at Qatar Technical Institute is a vital contributor to delivering top-tier vocational, technical, and defense education aligned with UK Level 3/4 equivalents and MoEHE approved programs. This position primarily focuses on preparing military students for operational readiness through engaging, learner-focused academic and practical instruction.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive theoretical, practical, laboratory, workshop, and simulation-based training following approved curricula and learning outcomes.
• Design lesson plans and training materials consistent with curriculum and awarding body standards.
• Use diverse teaching methods such as demonstrations, projects, discussions, and technology-enhanced learning to engage learners.
• Ensure the correct and safe use of specialized equipment and training resources.
• Adapt instruction to accommodate different learner needs across vocational, technical, defense, and higher education pathways.
• Leverage modern educational technologies, digital platforms, and audiovisual aids to support learning.
• Monitor student progress, providing mentorship, coaching, and constructive feedback to facilitate achievement and development.
• Conduct assessments aligned with quality assurance protocols and maintain precise learner records and reports.
• Contribute actively to quality assurance and continuous improvement of instruction and assessment practices.
• Support courseware development to keep instructional content current, accurate, and compliant with organizational and military standards.
• Promote a secure, disciplined, and professional learning environment while strictly adhering to Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security policies.
• Maintain effective communication, reporting, and escalation procedures within organizational frameworks.
• Build and sustain professional relationships with military personnel, learners, and stakeholders, upholding military protocols and standards.
• Provide ad hoc instructional coverage to ensure uninterrupted program delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

• Essential: UK Level 4 or higher qualification in engineering, technical, vocational or professional field, or relevant equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of industrial or defense sector technical experience within the relevant subject area.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in delivering structured technical or vocational training.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital training administration tools.
• Desired: Qualifications in teaching, training, assessment or instructional methods; experience in military, aerospace, regulated environments; curriculum and assessment design expertise.
• Familiarity with vocational education systems, competency-based training, quality assurance, Learning Management Systems, and simulation technologies.
• Experience in culturally diverse teaching environments and knowledge of EASA/DSAT regulations.
• Professional certifications, licenses, membership in professional bodies, and evidence of continuing professional development.

Specialized Subject Coverage

Primary teaching involves cybersecurity and related subjects such as programming languages (Java, Python), data structures, algorithms, computer architecture, operating systems, network fundamentals, cryptography, digital forensics, cybersecurity analytics, AI and machine learning basics, cloud and IoT security, database design, and practical laboratory instruction. Secondary responsibilities include supporting additional subject areas or programs as assigned, guided by qualifications and professional experience, with appropriate training and mentoring provided.
