Job description
Position Overview
Working as a Deli Associate at Walmart Canada provides an excellent opportunity to hone your retail and customer service skills. The role centers around delivering outstanding customer service aligned with Walmart's core beliefs and values, maintaining the deli department, and supporting product stocking and sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and zone the deli department ensuring proper layout and cleanliness.
- Monitor stock, performing regular rotations and checking for expired products to maintain quality standards.
- Ensure all merchandise is accurately signed and priced for customer information.
- Comply with cold chain guidelines, including thermometer calibration, temperature documentation, food handling procedures, product rotation, and observation of sell-by and expiration dates.
- Take orders for deli products; prepare and slice various items such as meat, cheese, and fried chicken.
- Assist front-end associates with price checks as required.
- Prepare deli food orders using slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, and deep fryers; arrange salads and side dishes for display and fulfill special customer requests.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area, free from debris, unnecessary fixtures, or foreign objects.
Compensation
The hourly minimum wage for this position starts at 16.45 CAD.
