Job description
About the Role
As a Customer Delivery Driver based in West Bromwich, you will provide essential service by delivering customers' shopping orders efficiently and with a friendly attitude. Your role will involve driving, customer interaction, and maintaining the vehicle and equipment to high standards.
Work Schedule
- Sunday: 09:00 to 19:00
- Monday: 07:00 to 17:00
- Thursday: 13:00 to 22:00
- Saturday: 13:00 to 23:00
Contracted hours will be scheduled within these availability windows, with at least three weeks' notice of shifts. A minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week is offered; part-time arrangements from 12 hours per week may be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep van and trays clean, tidy, and organized
- Maintain cleanliness in the loading and delivery areas by clearing rubbish and litter
- Follow the tray washing process diligently
- Load the delivery van and ensure its roadworthiness
- Communicate proactively with customers regarding order changes, substitutions, or refunds
- Handle products and deliveries carefully as if they were your own
- Deliver orders within the specified time slots
- Inform customers if you arrive earlier than scheduled
- Notify the store or delivery center if delayed by 30 minutes or more
Candidate Requirements
- Hold a UK/EU/EEA full or automatic driving license valid for at least 12 months with no more than three penalty points
- Comply with Great Britain domestic driving regulations
- Demonstrate warmth and friendliness in customer and colleague interactions
- Build effective relationships with team members to enhance store performance
- Adapt quickly to customer needs and embrace change
- Be energetic and motivated to exceed expectations while balancing work and personal life
- Contribute ideas for store improvement to management and colleagues
