Position Objective
The Contract Manager will oversee all contractual processes related to significant railway signaling projects within Saudi Arabia. This role requires ensuring the organization meets its contractual commitments while safeguarding commercial interests and managing risks throughout the project's lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead contract management activities from contract initiation to project close-out for railway signaling projects.
- Ensure adherence to contract provisions, organizational policies, and legal requirements.
- Advise project leaders, engineering groups, and senior management on contractual and commercial issues.
- Identify and handle contractual risks and opportunities, implementing needed mitigation approaches.
- Manage all contractual documentation, communications, and notifications related to clients, partners, and subcontractors.
- Oversee preparation, assessment, and negotiations of contract variations, change orders, and claims.
- Assist in claim development and dispute resolution, including negotiation and settlement.
- Track project performance against contract obligations to promptly detect issues.
- Coordinate with legal, finance, procurement, and project management units to maintain consistent contract governance.
- Manage subcontractor and supplier agreements aligning with main contract terms and project goals.
- Support commercial reporting, forecasting, and risk evaluations concerning contracts.
- Maintain proper contract administration and documentation control as per company standards.
- Aid project leadership in stakeholder engagement and contract discussions with clients and consortium members.
Experience Requirements
- Between 3 to 10 years in contract management, ideally with multinational firms and large infrastructure or railway projects.
- Expertise in managing complex EPC, turnkey, or railway signaling contracts in international project contexts.
- Proven competency in contract administration, claims handling, and resolving disputes.
- Experience with public sector contracts and infrastructure projects, preferably within Saudi Arabia.
- Good understanding of project delivery frameworks and commercial risk management in large transport projects.
Qualifications and Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Master's degree (e.g., MBA, Law, or Project Management) is advantageous.
- Fluent in Arabic and English languages.
- Work location: Makkah city, Saudi Arabia.
- Preferably Saudi nationals.
- Professional certifications or training in commercial or contract management highly regarded.
- Additional qualifications in FIDIC contract management or international construction law are beneficial.
Preferred Skills
- Deep knowledge of widely used contract frameworks such as FIDIC and GTPL in infrastructure projects.
- Strong negotiation, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Capability to navigate complex multicultural project settings and manage multiple contract interfaces.
- Strategic approach balancing business protection with cooperative project execution.
