Role Summary
The CNC Machinist will be responsible for programming and setting up CNC machines efficiently to manufacture parts based on design specifications. This role expects familiarity with all CNC control systems and programming parameters used within the company, as well as the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings. The position reports directly to the CNC Section Lead.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and operate CNC machinery effectively.
- Interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings to understand job specifications and expected outcomes.
- Load and prepare raw materials and components for machining.
- Configure machines for complete production cycles, accommodating both high-volume and single prototype parts.
- Oversee milling operations, making necessary adjustments to optimize output quality.
- Inspect and measure finished components to verify compliance with specifications.
- Conduct daily machinery maintenance in line with total productive maintenance (TPM) principles.
- Meet machine optimization targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure production achieves first-time-correct standards to satisfy internal and external customers.
- Address quality issues or escalate when resolution is not attainable independently.
- Maintain safety standards by following all prescribed procedures.
- Foster continuous improvement by generating ideas and maintaining an inquisitive approach.

- Producing right-first-time components.
- Achieving efficiency-related performance targets.
Required Skills and Attributes
- Demonstrated experience as a CNC machine operator.
- Proficient in programming using G-Codes and M-Codes.
- Willingness and availability to work evening shifts.
- Skilled in milling machinery operation, tooling, and precision measurement instruments.
- Experience with Hitachi, Doosan, Mazak, Hurco, or Mori Seiki milling machines.
- Familiarity with CNC controllers such as FANUC, SIEMENS, and Heidenheim.
- Experience in prototype or one-off machining environments.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and documents accurately.
- Basic knowledge of computer programming and CAD/CAM software.
- Strong mechanical aptitude combined with solid mathematics skills.
- Detail-oriented and focused on achieving results.
