Overview

The Treasury of New Zealand invites applications for a Communications Advisor to join the Communications and Engagement Team within the Enabling Services division on a permanent basis. This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative environment while contributing to New Zealand's economic and social future.

Role Description

The Communications and Engagement Team acts as a vital link between the Treasury, its stakeholders, and the public. The team focuses on designing and executing communication strategies, creating compelling content, and coordinating engagement efforts both internally and externally. The role requires fresh ideas and innovative approaches to enhance communication channels and strengthen the team's impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and assist in implementing communication strategies aligned with the Treasury's priorities.
  • Produce diverse, high-quality content including speeches, presentations, media releases, and social media materials.
  • Support various communication activities within the team and across the Treasury.
  • Facilitate internal and external engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams to ensure consistent, effective messaging.

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrated experience managing both internal and external communications with a focus on strategy development and execution.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills capable of translating complex information into accessible and engaging content.
  • Proficiency in delivering various content formats such as events, presentations, intranet stories, media releases, and social media posts.
  • Strong organizational abilities to handle multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
  • Excellent relationship management skills, enabling effective teamwork and collaboration.
  • A commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and practice of inclusive, culturally responsive communication.
