Position Overview

As a Commis B at Westin Hotels & Resorts in Doha, you will play a key role in food preparation and quality control to ensure guests receive exceptional culinary experiences. Your tasks will focus on ingredient preparation, cooking, and maintaining cleanliness and safety within the kitchen area.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion cooking ingredients, including chopping, measuring, washing, and peeling fresh produce.
• Cook food items following recipes, quality guidelines, and presentation standards.
• Operate various kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, stoves, microwaves, and fryers safely and efficiently.
• Conduct taste and quality checks to ensure food is properly cooked and meets expectations.
• Set up and dismantle workstations before and after shifts.
• Serve food portions appropriately and maintain sanitation standards by cleaning kitchen tools, utensils, and surfaces.
• Monitor appliance and food temperatures to ensure safety and quality compliance.

Work Environment and Conduct

• Adhere strictly to company safety, security, and hygiene protocols while reporting any hazards or incidents to management promptly.
• Maintain a professional appearance and safeguard confidential company information.
• Communicate courteously and professionally with colleagues to support a collaborative team environment and shared goals.
• Perform physical tasks including prolonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds independently.
• Complete additional assigned duties as required by supervisors.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications

• Minimum education requirement: High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• At least one year of experience in a related kitchen or food preparation role.
• No supervisory responsibilities are involved in this position.
• No certification or licenses are required.
