About the Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Commercial Associate will collaborate closely with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team to convert strategic goals into practical, well-executed initiatives. The role demands working with key senior leaders to transform priorities into detailed plans, compelling business cases, and measurable results across various parts of the organisation.

This position covers a broad range of responsibilities including developing business cases for enterprise projects, reviewing pricing strategies, coordinating cross-departmental project teams, and preparing critical executive and Board documentation. While it involves no direct line management, influence is achieved through insightful analysis and effective stakeholder engagement.

The role is designed as a developmental pathway, offering high performers comprehensive insight into the workings of a complex enterprise and building foundational commercial and leadership expertise for future advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in crafting, evaluating, and implementing the company’s strategic plan.
  • Lead and facilitate strategic initiatives directed by the CEO and executive leadership.
  • Develop robust business cases, strategic proposals, and materials to aid executive decisions.
  • Perform market research, data interpretation, and risk/opportunity assessments.
  • Lead a comprehensive review of the organisation’s pricing methodology.
  • Monitor and report on progress related to strategic objectives, timelines, risks, and benefits.
  • Prepare executive-level briefing documents, presentations, and reports for Board meetings.
  • Manage cross-functional teams and promote ongoing change and process improvements.

Required Skills and Experience

  • A tertiary qualification in business, commerce, economics, science, or a related field.
  • Preferably experienced in management consulting, or project/program management within large, complex organisations.
  • Strong commercial insight capable of linking analysis to business results.
  • Proven track record managing multi-disciplinary projects to successful completion on time and within scope.
  • Data-oriented with confidence in developing quantitative foundations for strategic recommendations.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to influence and hold senior stakeholders accountable.
  • Experience with change management, business transformation, or pricing strategies is advantageous.
  • Resilient, inquisitive, and comfortable working amidst uncertainty.
