About the Role
We are seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer to join our team based in Munich, Germany (Hoehenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn) within the Trimble Advanced Positioning department. As a leader in GNSS technology, Trimble is expanding its innovative positioning solutions globally. The successful candidate will be part of a core group responsible for maintaining the availability and reliability of our GPS correction services using cutting-edge cloud and automation technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and integrate new cloud service provider capabilities into our platform when needed.
- Design and implement solutions across various workloads using automation and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.
- Ensure compliance through practices like resource tagging, regular system backups, and patch management.
- Collaborate with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve intricate technical difficulties and incidents promptly.
- Advise teams on well-architected frameworks and industry best practices, leveraging practical experience.
- Lead migration efforts transitioning legacy on-premises systems to cloud environments.
- Promote the adoption of emerging cloud technologies, facilitate knowledge sharing within the IT team, and provide training for operations staff.
- Design and uphold identity and access management policies and security best practices in AWS and Azure platforms.
- Drive continuous improvement by automating processes, optimizing workflows, and deploying applications that enhance IT and business functions.
- Manage source code repositories and implement gated CI/CD pipelines for building, packaging, and deploying applications.
Required Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience managing operational aspects of AWS and Azure cloud services.
- Practical skills working with Kubernetes and containerized environments.
- Strong proficiency with infrastructure automation tools, particularly Terraform.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools, such as Ansible.
- Knowledge of cloud networking and security frameworks.
- Eagerness to continuously develop personal and team skills.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in verbal English communication.
