Overview
This role seeks a passionate and inquisitive professional to engage with hyperscale cloud infrastructure and overcome complex challenges in the AI domain. As a Cloud & AI Solution Engineer specializing in the Azure platform serving Public Sector clientele in New Zealand, you will be instrumental in guiding customers through infrastructure modernization and helping them harness the full potential of Microsoft's cloud offerings.
You will collaborate directly with both technical and business stakeholders to architect secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions that support AI workloads and critical business applications. Your technical expertise will allow you to articulate Microsoft solution capabilities effectively, aligning them with client-specific needs and working alongside partners to integrate complementary technologies such as NetApp, VMware, RedHat, and SAP.

Role Opportunities
- Lead significant technical engagements aiding large New Zealand organizations in infrastructure modernization and cloud adoption at scale.
- Design and validate Azure architectures that are secure, resilient, and scalable across infrastructure, data, applications, and AI workloads.
- Gain specialization in cloud migration, modernization, containerization, networking, security, and AI-enabled solutions.
- Engage with senior technology leaders and key stakeholders to impact strategic technology decisions.
- Collaborate with Azure specialists, customer success teams, Microsoft engineering, and partners to achieve meaningful outcomes for customers.
- Develop practical experience with cutting-edge Microsoft technologies including Azure Infrastructure, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Arc, and AI services.
- Accelerate career growth through Microsoft certifications, advanced learning programs, and collaboration with experts in cloud and AI.
- Assist customers in transitioning from experimentation to robust production deployments, delivering tangible business improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the technical sales process using demos, proofs of concept, and architectural accelerators to shape solution design and deployment.
- Lead workshops and architecture sessions to promote Azure adoption.
- Build trusted partnerships with platform leads to co-design secure and scalable cloud solutions.
- Address and resolve technical challenges by liaising with engineering teams and sharing insights from customers.
- Maintain deep expertise in cloud migration across various workloads such as Windows, SQL, Linux, PostgreSQL, and application services with focus on resiliency, security, and compliance.
- Expand knowledge in enterprise applications including SAP and Oracle, plus Azure VMware Solutions (AVS).
- Represent Microsoft in industry forums and technical communities, contributing thought leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
- Either a minimum of 5 years experience in technical pre-sales or consulting, or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field coupled with at least 4 years of similar experience.
- Proven experience designing or selling enterprise hybrid networking solutions with emphasis on secure connectivity and network performance.
- Comprehensive understanding of Azure services, including aspects of security, compliance, and hybrid cloud deployments.
- Strong communication and engagement skills to work effectively with technical and business stakeholders in developing scalable, secure cloud architectures.
