Position Overview
The Claims Associate at Walmart Canada is vital in maintaining inventory accuracy and enhancing store profitability by correctly managing damaged and returned merchandise per company policies. This role involves collaboration with vendors, staff, and customers to secure necessary credits, uphold inventory control, and ensure efficient store functions. The Claims Associate balances meticulous attention to detail with strong customer service skills to protect company assets and foster a positive shopping and work atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately and promptly scan damaged and stolen items to minimize losses.
- Organize returns, vendor requests, recalls, and donation shipments by completing necessary paperwork, packing, and dispatching within timelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in the claims area by adhering to proper procedures for lifting, ladder use, and chemical disposal.
- Comply with company policies on handling damaged and recalled merchandise, keep claims records current, and complete necessary forms to reduce chargebacks.
- Perform tasks related to the Customer Value Program (CVP) following established systems and processes.
- Assist the Office Support Associate and Direct Store Delivery Associate as needed.
- Adapt availability to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays to support store operations.
Challenges in this Role
- Manage a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment, especially during overnight hours, by planning to maintain energy and focus.
- Perform physical tasks such as standing for long periods, bending, and lifting items weighing up to 20 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Engage in repetitive actions like stocking, zoning, and organizing products consistently to meet store standards.

Compensation
The starting hourly wage for this role is $18.55.
