About the Role
Cashiers at The Home Depot serve a vital customer service function by delivering quick, courteous, precise, and secure transactions. They handle sales and return processes while overseeing the self-checkout zone. Cashiers actively acquire knowledge about products and projects to inform customers and identify potential sales opportunities. Strict adherence to company policies and protocols is required to reduce inventory shrinkage.
Head Cashiers carry the responsibility of assigning duties to Cashiers, facilitating price verifications, granting approvals for Point of Sale operations, markdowns across mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental areas. They also handle initial escalations from customers and contribute to the leadership, coaching, and training of Front End Associates by aiding in the onboarding and development of new Cashiers using all training resources.
Additional Information
The role typically requires a minimum of one year of previous Cashier experience, particularly for those advancing to the Head Cashier position.
