Position Overview

Joining Walmart Canada as a Cashier offers an excellent opportunity to build experience in the retail industry. The primary role involves delivering outstanding customer service during checkout to foster customer loyalty. A Cashier also acts as a vigilant protector of company assets as a loss prevention advocate.

Key Duties

• Warmly greet every customer with politeness and friendliness.
• Efficiently handle all purchase transactions, including the proper deactivation of items as per the Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) Program.
• Encourage customer participation in company-sponsored initiatives such as credit card services, product protection, and charitable campaigns.
• Support customers by assisting with bagging and loading their merchandise.
• Adhere to safety protocols by practicing proper lifting techniques and maintaining a tidy work environment.
• Safeguard the cash register by following cash handling procedures, company policies, and maintaining awareness to prevent loss.
• Redirect relevant service and transactional matters to a Customer Service Manager when necessary.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this role is $17.75.
