Cafe Barista

Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate Barista enthusiastic about delivering high-quality food and beverages alongside exceptional customer service to join our Tesco Café team. Whether customers stop by briefly after shopping or to enjoy a catch-up, you will ensure they experience delightful coffee, tea, and seasonal drinks that brighten their day.

Bringing your barista expertise or hospitality experience, you will contribute knowledgeably and support your teammates. You will maintain a thorough understanding of all menu options and promotions, carefully monitor stock, and serve customers efficiently while addressing any special needs.

At Tesco Café, we foster career progression. You will take responsibility for developing fellow baristas with guidance from the Café Manager and enhance your own skills via our Click and Learn portal and additional resources. We promote a welcoming environment for everyone to thrive. Please note applicants must be aged 18 or over.

Key Duties

• Provide prompt, accurate service delivering a variety of beverages.
• Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards to meet compliance requirements.
• Continuously check stock levels and follow all company policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with the Café Manager to identify and coach team members aspiring to improve their barista skills.
• Stay informed about Tesco updates, new offers, initiatives, and menu updates.
• Address and resolve customer complaints effectively when possible.

Qualifications and Attributes

• Experience as a Barista or in a hospitality role.
• Strong dedication to excellent customer service.
• Ability and confidence to coach and support others inclusively.
• Organizational and planning skills to manage tasks efficiently.
• Proactive approach using initiative to enhance procedures or adapt to new situations.
• Effective communication skills for liaising with colleagues and management.
