Position Summary

The Kenya office of MSF – Holland is seeking a Business Application Specialist who will report to the Head of Office. The primary role is to enhance processes by effectively utilizing assigned platforms through development, management, maintenance, and user support.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and support automation tools, maintaining existing and implementing new solutions.
• Manage and upgrade the Kenya Office website collaboratively with the ICT HQ team, ensuring functional, secure domain hosting and Microsoft Azure management, including content updates.
• Maintain and update the Online Catalogue, ensuring accurate product listings with codes, images, videos, and coordinate with SPINCO and UF teams on API integrations.
• Implement data security and encryption measures for websites, tools, and systems following Data Protection Act compliance and MSF standards.
• Oversee programming projects, guiding code development, testing, deployment, progress updates, and compliance with organizational standards.
• Create and deliver training materials and system guides for KO tools and act as backup documentation resource for ICT HQ.
• Conduct unit and other testing types to guarantee application reliability; troubleshoot issues across application layers.
• Maintain, upgrade, and secure application modules to ensure scalability and efficiency.
• Provide analytical problem-solving expertise to resolve application-related challenges.
• Advise and assist the Nairobi BIOMED Hub with audio/video tutorials, AR/VR tutorials, and 3D printing initiatives.
• Stay current with new system releases and feature updates.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Business Information Technology.
• A minimum of three years' experience managing application development and implementation or similar roles.
• Fluent proficiency in English and Kiswahili is essential.

Technical Knowledge

• Familiarity with Linux-based systems and version control using Git and GitHub.
• Strong proficiency in Python programming.
• In-depth understanding of the Odoo framework and its modules.
• Experience with server-side languages and debugging techniques.
• Technical skills across various tools: Python, SQL Server, Flutter (cross-platform app development), HTML/CSS, jQuery, XML, JavaScript, Java, Node.js, Angular, Power Apps, MS SharePoint, MS Automate, Open ERP/Odoo, dashboard platforms, MS Azure, Linux OS, and Windows OS.
• Knowledge of data security protocols and compliance such as the Data Protection Act.
• Ability to develop training materials and document system processes.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse teams.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience in teaching, mentoring, and providing support.
