Backend Java Engineer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain scalable backend services utilizing Java and the Spring Framework.
• Design and improve microservices architectures capable of handling high-volume, critical workloads.
• Implement solutions on AWS by utilizing cloud-native offerings and modern software engineering methodologies.
• Build distributed systems focused on performance, reliability, resilience, and scalability.
• Work closely with product owners, architecture teams, and engineers to convert business needs into technical designs.
• Promote best practices in software design, testing, code quality, monitoring, and operational reliability.
• Participate in architectural decision-making and guide the platform's future evolution.
• Maintain applications throughout their lifecycle including deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.

Required Skills and Experience

• At least 3 to 5 years of experience in software engineering developing enterprise-level applications.
• Expertise in Java programming and the Spring Framework, especially Spring Boot.
• Demonstrated track record of designing and building distributed systems and microservices architectures.
• Proficiency in AWS application development and deployment.
• Solid grasp of software design, object-oriented programming, and contemporary backend development practices.
• Experience with RESTful API design, event-driven systems, and asynchronous processing.
• Knowledge of SQL, databases, and data modeling concepts.
• Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
