Role Purpose

As an Azure Data Architect within Landmark Digital’s Data Team, you will design scalable, secure Azure data architectures aligned with business goals and lead data strategy, governance, and collaboration across various teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and continuously improve Azure data platform architecture with a focus on scalability, security, and business alignment.
• Establish standards, governance frameworks, and best practices for data management, integration, and modeling across Azure services.
• Lead data modeling processes covering relational, dimensional, and NoSQL data, optimizing integration pipelines for diverse data sources.
• Ensure robust data security, compliance, and governance leveraging Azure tools such as Purview, Active Directory, and Key Vault.
• Monitor and enhance platform performance while optimizing costs associated with Azure resource consumption.
• Mentor technical teams by providing architecture guidance, conducting design reviews, and resolving conflicts.
• Utilize extensive retail domain knowledge to tailor data strategies addressing industry-specific challenges.
• Optimize data storage, processing, and retrieval using Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL Database, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, and related integration and visualization tools like PowerBI and Qlik.
• Collaborate with DevOps for automating deployment, configuration, and monitoring through Azure DevOps and scripting tools.
• Stay updated on emerging cloud data technologies and recommend innovative solutions to improve the data platform.
• Document technical designs, procedures, and operational guidelines comprehensively.

Required Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. Advanced degrees are advantageous.
• Over 10 years of experience as a Data Architect in complex, large-scale, multi-cloud environments with heavy data volumes.
• Hands-on experience with big data frameworks such as Apache Spark and Hadoop.
• Strong foundation in cloud infrastructure management and provisioning.
• Solid knowledge of network and data security concepts including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention, access controls, encryption, and compliance with privacy laws.
• Prior exposure to the retail sector is preferred.
