Our stores specialize in products and foods for a wide range of pets such as dogs, cats, companion birds, wild birds, fish, reptiles, and small animals. Role Overview
The Assistant Store Manager role involves leading and coaching your team to provide exceptional customer service, helping pet owners choose the best nutritional and care products for their pets. This position offers an opportunity to grow within a passionate, pet-focused retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the team meets all customer service standards and fosters positive relationships with the local community, including organizations like the Humane Society.
- Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and coach store employees effectively.
- Enforce all corporate operational policies and procedures within the store.
- Manage administrative duties including order placements, inventory maintenance, completing audits, coordinating minor repairs, and corporate paperwork.
- Drive the team toward achieving business targets and operational goals.
- Perform additional tasks and duties as needed.
Candidate Profile
- At least two years of experience in customer service and retail store management.
- A strong enthusiasm for learning and advancing in the pet care industry.
- Outgoing and friendly with excellent customer service abilities.
- Availability to work weekends, evenings, and as scheduled.
- Reliable transportation to commute to the store.
- Capable of providing coaching on sales techniques and elevating customer service quality.
- Able to navigate and mediate team conflicts, escalating issues when necessary.
- Familiarity with POS systems.
- Physically able to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds.
- Previous industry experience is advantageous.
