Role Overview
The Assistant Store Manager plays a vital role supporting the Store Manager in managing daily retail operations, driving customer satisfaction, and meeting sales targets. This position assumes the role of Manager on Duty during the Store Manager's absence.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager in overseeing operations and managing the store team.
- Assist with merchandising activities, including stocking shelves and unpacking shipments daily.
- Deliver excellent customer service while handling escalated customer concerns professionally.
- Lead training, coaching, and development initiatives for store employees.
- Manage cash handling procedures and execute store opening and closing protocols when required.
- Delegate daily tasks among team members, ensuring the store remains clean and safe.
- Conduct performance evaluations regularly and provide constructive employee feedback.
- Uphold company policies and maintain safety standards throughout the store.
- Maintain the store’s visual merchandising standards effectively.
- Oversee hiring processes and manage employee performance.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least two years of retail work experience.
- Minimum of two years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Availability to work across various shifts including day, evening, and weekends.
- Strong leadership qualities coupled with effective communication and decision-making abilities.
- Proven ability to multitask and prioritize duties efficiently in a dynamic retail environment.
