Job description
Job Overview
The Assistant In-Room Dining Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing team collaboration to deliver exceptional guest service. The role requires monitoring staff appearance, ensuring all opening and closing tasks are meticulously completed, and maintaining orderly storage areas through adherence to FIFO principles. Regular inventories and supply requisitions are also essential responsibilities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure seamless teamwork among staff to meet guest expectations effectively.
- Inspect grooming and attire standards and address any shortcomings promptly.
- Manage opening and closing procedures, including preparation, cleaning, and securing of areas and equipment.
- Supervise storage areas for cleanliness, organization, and proper stock rotation.
- Conduct inventories and coordinate supply replenishment as needed.
- Monitor dining room seating availability, guest safety, service quality, and well-being.
- Submit maintenance work orders for repair needs.
- Support management in recruitment, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching of staff.
- Serve as a role model and primary contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process.
- Adhere to company and safety policies, report hazards or incidents, and complete required safety trainings.
- Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality, protecting company assets at all times.
- Welcome guests warmly, anticipate their needs, assist those with disabilities, and express genuine appreciation.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, building positive relationships with colleagues to achieve shared objectives.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, productivity, safety, and cost savings.
- Perform physical tasks such as standing, sitting, walking for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and maneuvering through confined areas as required.
- Carry out other job-related duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a related food and beverage role.
- Supervisory Experience: At least 1 year managing and guiding staff.
- Licenses/Certifications: None required.
