The role of the Alterationist transcends technical tasks, representing a vital aspect of the client experience that enhances exclusivity, craftsmanship, and timeless elegance.

This position aims to add value to Ready‑to‑Wear by delivering superior alteration services focused on quality, client experience, and timely turnaround while demonstrating CHANEL's unique expertise in alterations and positioning the House as a leader in Ready‑to‑Wear excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce superior quality alterations that meet CHANEL's standards, maintaining garment construction, silhouette, and original design vision.
• Accurately interpret alteration instructions, plan meticulously, and execute work with flawless finishing and presentation.
• Repair or replace garment components while preserving the elegance and integrity of each piece.
• Ensure client satisfaction by delivering precise, consistent, and exquisite craftsmanship.
• Complete alterations within agreed lead times without compromising quality standards.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies to ensure workshop preparedness at all times.
• Participate actively in boutique meetings and training sessions related to Ready‑to‑Wear products.
• Collaborate with Fashion Advisors and boutique teams by clearly communicating alteration workflows and supporting retail activities.
• Adhere strictly to procedures, documentation, planning, and back-of-house operations to ensure smooth workflow efficiency.
• Work hand-in-hand with Fitting Specialists throughout the alteration process.
• Coordinate effectively with all boutique and workshop stakeholders, including FAs, Style Experts, Supervisors, and back-of-house teams.
• Provide peer support during peak workload periods and openly share knowledge and best practices.
• Maintain a humble, adaptable approach, seeking feedback continuously and embracing ongoing learning and improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ practical experience in tailoring and garment construction.
• Previous work experience at an international fashion house is highly preferred.
• Extensive skill in garment alterations with strong sensitivity to fit, proportion, and balance.
• Client-focused approach, displaying professionalism and confidentiality.
• Highly organized, rigorous, and reliable, thriving in a dynamic boutique environment.
• Keen fashion sense paired with pride in achieving the Perfect Fit.
